Innovista Client, Open Mind, Will Broadcast First Pilot Program on CW Network

Innovista's social innovation client, Open Mind, will kick off its first educational pilot program on Saturday, January 9, 2016.  

Open Mind is a nonprofit organization that helps knowledge seekers who enjoy educational television programming on Saturday morning to take their learning to new levels through innovative online learning opportunities.  Open Mind's pilot program will begin this Saturday morning, January 9, 2016, with a public service announcement to be broadcast multiple times on the CW network.  The public service announcement will invite viewers to learn about the importance of Internet privacy and Cybersecurity by participating in a free online course.

Kickstarter Kicks Into Benefit Corporation Mode

According to a blog post by co-founders Yancey Strickler, Perry Chen, and Charles Adler, Kickstarter, the popular crowdfunding site has reincorporated as a Public Benefit Corporation under Delaware law.  According to the co-founders, the decision to become a Public Benefit Corporation allowed the company to “spell[ ] out a specific list of values and commitments we’ll live by” and was accomplished without a single dissenting vote from shareholders and investors.
