Fourd Kemper focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing, securities, licensing and other intellectual property matters, and the representation of high-tech entrepreneurs.
Fourd’s work in Wood Rogers’ business group also includes general commercial, real estate transactions, and contractual matters. Fourd has significant experience representing public companies, including serving six years as general counsel of Luna Innovations Incorporated, a public technology company based in Roanoke. He also has experience with venture capital investments, representing both technology companies raising funds and representing venture capital firms and other industrial investors.
He is a member of the Virginia Bar Association’s Business Law Section Council and previously served as chairman of the Business Section of the Virginia State Bar.
The Roanoke native graduated from Duke University and earned his law degree at the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the editorial board of Virginia Law Review.
Fourd serves on the board of trustees of North Cross School and Opera Roanoke. His community service has included serving on the boards of Downtown Roanoke Inc., and the Roanoke Valley Greenway Commission, as well as serving as President for Pathfinders for Greenways, Inc. He also served on the Vision 2001-2020 Advisory Committee (as Environmental Resources Chair) for the Roanoke City Vision 2001-2020 Comprehensive Plan.
